Fun and Funky Bedding

When I'm shopping online for bedding, I usually start with sources like Pottery Barn, West Elm and The Company Store.  I always forget to check out what Garnet Hill has to offer in their Bedding & Home Collection!  They have a great selection of sheets, quilts, comforters, towels and rugs.  They carry a great neutral line by Eileen Fisher and a fun, beachy line by Lilly Pulitzer.

Here are a few of my favorites that I found on their website recently.  I think this would all be great to add a fun punch of color to a space~

They also have lots of great neutrals and classic pieces!

Have you ever bought anything from the Garnet Hill Bedding & Home Collection?  Does it have a good quality?  Would you recommend it?

Ooh La La

I am proud to be an Arkansan.  I may live in Texas, but I'm not a Texan.  I'm an Arkansan.  I love to feature fabulous talent from my home state.  At the top of the list is Bear-Hill Interiors, a Little Rock-based boutique and interior design firm.  Here is one of their projects.  Don't you agree that it's completely divine?  And, the fact that I'm in love with purple right now makes my crush that much stronger.  Check it out~

Frugal Find - Wisteria Chair

I told you here about the fabulous steal I got at the Dallas Wisteria outlet on my Wisteria French Colonial Armchairs for my bedroom~

While it's not identical, I found this chair on the Kirkland's website this week.  I think it's a great find for the price--$329!  Yes, that's $470 less than the Wisteria chair is currently priced!
Look how similar it is to the Wisteria chair!!
Just makes me wish I could find another place in my house for this chair...maybe a place where it's not covered in pillows and a comforter most of the week!

Evolution of the Master Bedroom

Many, many years ago in a land far away, lived a very small master bedroom...  Well, not really that many years ago, we're only talking 2008, and not that far away, either, Arkansas to be precise.  But it was a small master bedroom~

Sorry for the small picture, but it was really so small that it was hard to photograph.

Then, we moved far, far away (well, only to Texas), and this is how the master bedroom looked the day I looked at our house~

Everything's bigger in Texas.  Everything.

After we moved in, this is where we started~

We finally got bedroom furniture.  It was my 30th birthday present, and the day my bedroom furniture was delivered was the first time I remember really feeling like I was an adult.

Then we painted the bedroom Nickel by Pratt & Lambert and replaced the bedding with a duvet from West Elm.  You may have noticed that I might have a thing for white bedding...

I got bored with my West Elm duvet.  It just wasn't a good match for our bed.  I asked for a Pottery Barn gift card for Christmas and used it to buy their Grand Embroidered Duvet in porcelain--a really close match to our paint color.  Then, we lowered the posts at the foot of the bed~

Then we added the board and batten feature -- my favorite part of our bedroom~

Then, we added a new white quilt (from Homegoods!!), new gold lampshades (from Garden Ridge!), solid white pillow sham (from Pottery Barn), and a small pillow that I made~

Next, I had the find of the year on my great chairs at the Wisteria outlet in Dallas~

Then came my beloved chandelier~

And, then it was time to tie it all together~

There are still some items that I want to add to finish the room, but it feels so good to finally have a mostly
complete adult bedroom.  I'm amazed by scrolling the pictures to see the evolution of our journey!

Master Bedroom Updates

Early on I shared some of my favorite bedrooms with you.  This was before we embarked upon our board and batten project and before I begged for my master bedroom chandelier...

While I'm very proud of how far we've come, I still have some finishing touches that I want to add.  Maybe a bench for the end of the bed and a small rug in my sitting area.  In the meantime, though, I wanted to share some of our updates (I wish I was a better photographer!)~

I asked my husband recently what his favorite room in our house was.  It was probably a trick question, but he answered perfectly: our master bedroom because it's so serene and relaxing.  Score one for both of us!

Check back tomorrow for a post on the evolution of the master bedroom!!
