Painted Front Doors

I love a brightly painted front door.  Do I think they're right right for every house...no.  Unfortunately, with our multi-tone brick, a cheery front door would just look weird.  If my brick were a solid tone, I'd be on it like white on rice...or maybe the better phrase would be like red on a cherry...or yellow on a lemon.

Painted brick and a bright front door are definitely on my home-owning bucket list, though.  In the meantime, I'll just dream...

The Traditional Tudor

Hands down I would always choose the aesthetic of an older home over a new home.  I love the luxuries that come with the interiors of many new homes, but new homes just don't have the "lived in" charm that many older homes have.  Not long ago I was in Dallas running errands and drove through a neighborhood mainly filled with older homes, specifically many tudor style homes.  I love the rounded front doors that are common in tudor style homes.  They just seem so inviting.  Here are several which are currently on the Dallas real estate market.  I chose to share these homes based on the exteriors--proceed at you own risk to look at their interiors~

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

So, here's another confession.  My husband has an addiction.  To college football.  And, if your husband or boyfriend does too, then he's also been counting down the minutes to tomorrow's official kick-off.

Don't get me wrong.  I like football.  But my weekend plans include this~

*No, I'm not going on vacation again.  I just couldn't find a could picture of our pool.

With this~

And, maybe this~

What are y'all up to this weekend?  Reading?  Shopping the sales?  Have a happy Labor Day Weekend!
